God I'm such a terrible person. I've got so many things I should and could be doing but I have no motivation to do them. Ive got competition entries that need coloring, fan fictions that need finishing, amv's that need finishing, sketches that need inking, and I've even got to storyboard and construct a promo animation since a wonderful voice actor even send me a recording I can use.

I know I can do all these things, I'm just either unmotivated to do any of them or I get distracted while working on one and start working on another. Maybe I'm just lazy?

Yeah I don't really know what I'm on about...

I went to manifest (Melbourne anime festival) not long ago, cosplayed as Deidara, best two days of my life. I really felt like I fit in for once. I want to upload some pictures for you guys to see, but it's a little pointless since it's not really art at all.

COMPETITIONS

I have made an executive decision to reinstate Flight to Freedom (which I am renaming). After watching several shoujo animes I have completely redeveloped my plot, character profiles, themes, animating ideas and ending. Most of the main characters have been cut out and reinstated as extras, due to the cast being to large for me to handle.
Each episode has been cut down to 15 minutes, but being viewed and uploaded as three parts (act i, act ii, act iii). This way I can be more motivated to finish each act rather than look at a half hour script in horror.

I am looking for many volunteers for many positions all which are listed below with details. I will not be talking all the credit, or raking in a profit for your hard work like many people fear, I am appreciative for any help I receive no matter how meager it may seem. I want to complete this as professionally, and as pain free as possible.

The talents I am in need of are:

Voice actors:
People who are willing to give up their time to sound like idiots talking, crying and screaming into a microphone. There are a wide range of characters I am in need of, and if you don’t seem to fit into any particular one available I can always try write in a small part to suit your voice and talents. Either Background artists (preferred) or Photographers and photo manipulators:
Backgrounds are an anime essential and there are two ways I’m willing to do this. Either (preferably yet unlikely) a couple of wonderful artists willing to paint a variety of backgrounds (using water colours), which I will reuse over and over again, or a couple of photographers who are willing to take pictures of scenery similar to that in the scene and manipulate them to look as though they were painted with water colour’s( paint daubs works really well, I use the settings 8, 19).

Fellow Animators:
As much as I wish I could be a one man band, I know it would be physically impossible, and the outcome would be horrendous. If there are any macromedia flash users out there, good at drawing and following storyboards and with some imaginative input, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Others:
If none of these roles tickle your fancy, I might need a couple of other people to do some other tasks, such as:

1) Making sound effects. Did you know that the sound of the t-rex in ‘Jurassic Park’ was made by, mixing the sounds of multiple modern day animals together and layering them? Well if you think you can be this inventive for more everyday sounds then you could be perfect.

2) Storyboarding. People who can take a script, character designs and an idea, and turn it into a visual master piece are desperately needed. People who understand camera angles, visual effects and most importantly ways of shortcutting to save animators work, and make it look professional.

3) Screenwriters, second opinion. It’s my dream to become a screenwriter, but despite that I may be in need of a second opinion on what I’m writing. My humor has always been considered a little strange, and I can’t really trust my friends for an honest or normal opinion. If there is anyone who feels like putting in ideas and suggestions or even talking an idea and writing their own episode that would be great.

Competitions

Hi guys I’m going to be having a couple of competitions to help get my anime rolling. Any one can enter no matter how good you are, it’s just for a bit of fun and it’d be great if I could get a lot of contribution, kind of an emotional booster.

Character Design Competition

I am holding a character design competition to get some outside input to the outcome of the characters. I’m hoping to find at least one character design for each character in my anime, or even multiple designs that I can combine.
Any one can enter, even if you think your art isn’t the best, it’s the imagination and ideas I’m after. After all, no matter who wins, I’m going to transpose the character into my own style and vision.

Rules

Entries must include at leat one character design, based on the character profiles in my journal.

You are allowed to enter a maximum of three designs. Each one can have as many characters as you want as long as they are my characters.

It does not have to be a formal character profile, you can treat it as a fan art, the design/background is up to you as long as you keep my anime and setting in mind.

When choosing clothes keep in mind who they are. They may not be your stereotypical dirty/poor orphans, but they’re not exactly going to be wearing designer labels and formal wear (except their ‘western’ school uniform which you can also design)

The character design must be the entirely your own. If I find you have stolen a design for another person, or an actual anime, you will be disqualified.


Background Competition

Calling on all background artists/photographers! I’m holding a competition to find a team of four background artists (one of them the team leader) for my anime project.

To enter you must submit two pieces:

A building silhouette against a night sky, with silhouette dead tree branches in the foreground.

Anything you think suitable for a large orphanage/school hall (day)

Rules

Please if you’re entering be dedicated to work on my project. Only enter if you’re actually interested in being part of the team.

You must submit both backgrounds to be able to enter

You must have painted/ taken the photo yourself. Anyone caught stealing will be disqualified.


Storyboard Competition

I’m holding a storyboard competition for a short 14 second storyboard. These 14 seconds will be the start of my anime intro and will be put to the song Honey Vanity – Kozi
If you want me to send you the 14 seconds of the song I can, though I would prefer it if you could listen to the song on youtube or myspace.
It is entirely up to you how you go about this, but you will not be judged on the actual storyboard but what the animation looks like after I animate it using flash. I will animate every entry I get, so the competition might be open for a while.
The winners will become my team of four story boarders, the overall winner being the team leader.

Rules

Please if you’re entering be dedicated to my project. Only enter if you are actually interested in being part of the team.

You must keep into consideration what the anime is about, the characters personality traits, and how the effects you are using look and feel. (Blood and action is just not going to work)

Keep in mind what is actually possible when animating in flash. Some effects just cant be done. If you want to know if something is possible don’t hesitate to ask, I’m ahppy to go over anything with you.
